For its Public Engagement Workshops programme, SCULPTURE AT enlisted education advisor Claire Cooke to devise, develop and run activities together with each commissioned artist.
Workshops take place on numerous dates between 2014 and 2018, within the local community - with children, elderly, families, youth, schools, and art students. Sessions are held on-site at Bermondsey Square and at partner organisations: Bluegrove Home; Salmon Youth Group; and Grange School.
Cooke is founder of “Mirror Mirror”, producing interactive education events for the visual arts (mirrormirrored.blogspot.co.uk.). Claire was Arts Development Manager for the Barking Creative Industries Quarter (2008 to 2011) where she raised resources, developed partnerships with local schools and community groups, and devised / delivered a programme of projects and events. Claire was also Project Manager for the Learning and Participation department of Space Studios for over four years. She led the Creative Learning in Artists’ Studios programme and Hackney’s Here!. Claire is currently running a range of different public engagement activities as part of a Heritage Lottery Fund bid to restore Sir John Soane’s previous residence, Pitzhanger Manor.
Generously funded by Arts Council England, the National Lottery Fund, Ideas Tap, and Bermondsey Square Community Fund.
