SCULPTURE AT Bermondsey Square was conceived through a series of six-month publicly funded commissions begun in 2014 under the umbrella of VITRINE, in collaboration with artists, ensuring the project’s development would be artist-led and share the gallery's focus on artistic experimentation. It ran until 2018 at this location. It has more recently established itself as a Swiss Verein, in Basel, Switzerland.
The platform aims to widen the opportunities for artists with no previous experience in the public realm to create temporary outdoor sculptures and to develop a broader dialogue around this artistic practice.
